The 33rd Annual FiFi Awards



The Fragrance Foundation honored the best and brightest at the fragrance industry’s most prestigious event.

he Fragrance Foundation continued its tradition of recognizing the best in the fragrance industry at a ceremony held on April 7 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

More than 1000 beauty industry celebrants gathered to honor this year’s winners that were recognized for a variety of accomplishments in a range of categories.

This year’s celebrity host was Academy award-winning actress Marisa Tomei. Other entertainment, fashion and industry personalties at the event were actress Katie Holmes and Michael Gould, chairman and chief executive of Bloomingdales, who presented the Hall of Fame Awards to Carolina Herrera and Arie L. Kopelman, respectively.

Sense of Smell Day Promotes Fragrance



The fragrance industry also helped the general public across the U.S. learn more about aromas in another major event. On April 30, the Sense of Smell Institute held the 12th annual Sense of Smell Day, co-sponsored by: IFF, Givaudan, and Symrise which ‘Adopted Museums’ by underwriting grants; The Demeter Fragrance Library donated fragrances for the Test Your Smell Kits; Odor-Eaters sponsored the Odor-Eaters Rotten Sneaker Contest at the Arizona Science Center and at the Maryland Science Center; TriSenx loaned its new fragrance diffusion device to a select number of participating museums; and Fragrance Resources, Laurice & Co., and Coty each gave generous contributions.
Activities were held at various museums around the country.

The activities were designed to heighten awareness of the importance of aromas in everyday life.
